Epilepsy Foundation New England (EFNE) is hosting their 25th Annual Boston Walk for Epilepsy on the Boston Common on May 12th at 9AM.
EFNE provides Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow for over 100,000 families affected by epilepsy living in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. One in 26 people in the US will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. Epilepsy affects over 3 million people in the US, which is more than the number of individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease combined. Each year, about 1 in 1,000 adults and 1 in 4,500 children with epilepsy die from SUDEP.
All proceeds from the Annual Walk will help provide services that fill gaps in the treatment system and enable the over 100,000 people with epilepsy and their families to take actions regarding healthcare, independent living, and community involvement.
