For the past 8 months, the brightest emerging leaders ―from some of Boston’s biggest organizations― have worked collaboratively with UMass Foundation community partners to learn how to work in diverse, cross-sector teams where teamwork is the key to success.
On May 22nd at the Boston Public Library, The UMass Boston ‘Emerging Leader Program’ class of 2018 will present their projects to the public for the first time and respond to questions on how their work will have an impact in our community. Projects include:
- Developing a Stop Handgun Violence Toolkit for states with lesser gun laws, presented by Kerry McOsker of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
- Developing a brief in five key public policy areas – education, energy, healthcare, transportation and taxation for the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, presented by Josh Gilliam of Suffolk Construction.
- Providing recommendations for internal communications and interdependent challenges for the Boston Public Library, presented by Noel Chambers of Eversource.
- Providing a feasibility study, marketing campaign and development plan for the Trotter Institute at UMass Boston, presented by Vetto Casado of Small Can Be Big.
- Work with Massasoit Community College to develop a ‘student success’ plan, presented by Steve Spillane of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
