BOSTON – July 12, 2016 –The Shooze Cruise is the signature event of the Emerging Leaders of St. Francis House, a group of young philanthropists who highlight the needs of homeless men and women who are struggling to rebuild their lives. The event was created by Tim Nolan, a then volunteer at St. Francis House who currently serves on the St. Francis House Board of Directors. The Boston Harbor cruise aboard Provincetown II will feature dancing, plentiful hors d’ouevres, a raffle, and cash bar.
Tim has been involved with St. Francis House for almost twenty years and “truly passionate about the programs and service support St. Francis House provides guests in need. Thirteen years ago I started an event called the St. Francis House Shooze Cruise. The purpose of the event was to raise funds and collect footwear for guests of St. Francis House.”
Tim is now a member of the St. Francis House Board, and just as excited about the cruise this summer as he was back in 2003. The thirteenth annual Shooze Cruise is expected to bring more than 300 new pairs of shoes to St. Francis House this summer and raise $30,000 for programs and services.

Proper footwear is one of the biggest challenges of men and women living on the streets. In addition to the $30 ticket price, each attendee is asked to contribute a pair of new men’s sneakers, boots, or dress shoes sizes 9-13.
