Please join us for Shelter Music Boston’s 2016 Music and Meaning Benefit Concert. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 5th, from 6-8 p.m. at the Lindsey Chapel at Emmanuel Church. Click here to register to attend this free event.

The Shelter Music Boston Benefit concert will feature music for violin, cello, soprano and mezzo soprano, including the remarkable finale duet from Monteverdi’s Coronation of Poppea. ALL repertoire on the concert, listed below, will be drawn from our September shelter concerts. As well, during September we will premiere Danielle Williams piece, which is fresh off the press. This work, dedicated to Shelter Music Boston, was inspired by the poignant response to our concerts of one Shattuck Shelter audience member. We look forward to all of our audiences learning that the words of one homeless citizen have inspired the creation of a new work of art.

Stradella Sonata for Vioiln and Cello
Monteverdi, Pur ti miro, pur ti godo
Monteverdi, Chiomé D’oro
Hildegard von Bingen, Caritas abundat in omnia
Beethoven, Music, Love, and Joy
Danielle Williams, Release
McHugh/Fields, On the Sunny Side of the Street

Our guest speaker for the evening will be a woman who has experienced our concerts as an audience member in the two Dimock Center programs we serve, My Sister’s House and Women’s Renewal. Her words will offer first hand experience of the impact of our work.
