WHO: Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez and his wife Carolina will welcome Red Sox legend David Ortiz, current Red sox players Rafael Devers, Eduardo Nunez, Sandy Leon, Fernando Abad, Christian Vazquez and Major League Baseball All-Stars Luis Severino, Aroldis Chapman, Carlos Martinez, Marcell Ozuna and more for the Second Annual Pedro Martinez Charity Gala to benefit thousands of children in the United States and the Dominican Republic, as well as victims of Hurricane Irma.
WHAT: Pedro and Carolina Martinez will celebrate 10 years of the Pedro Martinez Charity at the Second Annual Pedro Martinez Charity Gala. The event will raise funds to expand the number of children and families supported by the charity, both in the United States and at the Pedro Martinez Charity Community Center in Santo Domingo.

The Pedro Martinez Charity is devoted to transforming the lives of children through holistic education and social services, currently supporting thousands of children in the United States and the Dominican Republic. The charity has positively impacted over 10,000 children and families, including awarding over 4,800 grants and scholarships for teenagers, young adults, and parents to go to college or go to school for a technical trade. At the Pedro Martinez Charity Community Center in Santo Domingo, the charity provides nutrition counseling, medical and dental care, career training, parenting workshops, day care programs, social services, a computer lab, sports classes and job placement for more than 1,000 children.

ABOUT THE PEDRO MARTINEZ CHARITY
The Pedro Martinez Charity was founded in 2007 by Pedro and Carolina Martinez with a focus on transforming the lives of children and their families in the Dominican Republic and United States through holistic education, social services, and mentorship. The Pedro Martinez Charity Community Center in Santo Domingo serves children from 2 to 17 years old and provides new opportunities and support to improve their lives. Pedro Martinez is a Hall of Fame baseball player most known for his time pitching for the Boston Red Sox. He is a three-time Cy Young Winner, an eight-time MLB All-Star, and a World Series champion.
