Please join Anti-Defamation League (ADL) New England in welcoming the sixth National Director of the ADL, Jonathan Greenblatt on Thursday, November 5th at The Fairmont Copley Plaza.

Jonathan Greenblatt is an accomplished entrepreneur and innovative leader with deep experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. As chief executive of ADL, Jonathan leads all aspects of one of the most respected civil rights organizations in the country. Prior to heading ADL, Jonathan served in the White House as Special Assistant to President Obama and Director of the Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation. There, he led the Administration’s efforts to use financial innovation, national service, and public-private partnerships to accelerate economic recovery, boost job creation, and strengthen local communities.

In 2002, Jonathan co-founded Ethos Brands, the business that launched Ethos Water, the premium bottled water that donates a portion of its profits to fund clean water programs around the world. The business was acquired by Starbucks Coffee Company in 2005, and Mr. Greenblatt subsequently served as a senior executive at the company, directing the successful launch of Ethos Water across North America and serving on the board of the Starbucks Foundation.

A graduate of Tufts University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, he is the grandson of a Holocaust survivor who escaped from Nazi Germany.

While an undergraduate at Tufts, he interned in ADL’s New England Regional Office in Boston, and is a graduate of ADL’s Salvin Leadership Program.
