FRESH MEDIA is an annual showcase of projects by the Graduate Student artists and designers in the Dynamic Media Institute at MassArt. Students are from diverse backgrounds in engineering, fine arts, computer programming, graphic/industrial design and advertising.

The 2015 FRESH MEDIA exhibition includes interactive and dynamic work ranging from computer based imagery, aural soundscapes, data visualization, and even game-like storytelling.

The exhibition is curated by Philip Gedarovich and Sara Rutledge. It features the work of Amy Jorgensen, Andrew Ringler, Bing Lin, Claire Sun, Ceren Paydaş, Katie Liguori, Michael Boyle, Philip Gedarovich, Sixten Abbot, Wei Xu (Joey) and Yanjun Lyu.

Fresh Media is a unique prototyping event presented in a gallery environment. Students use this opportunity to conduct user-testing and to think beyond the classroom. The Dynamic Media Institute encourages dialogue within the fields of art, design, technology, and science. Because students focus on designing experiences for the FRESH MEDIA exhibition, the success of their projects relies heavily on the critical analysis of user-experience research. Tangible results not only enable them to better understand and develop specific projects, but also expand the field of interaction design as a whole. Additionally, by sharing their playful yet thought-provoking works, they hope to engage the communities at large, asking them to question their place in the midst of this dynamic society we live in – and to have fun doing it!
