| Boston’s up-and-coming professionals are setting sail to support the poor and homeless. The Emerging Leaders of St. Francis House present the 12th annual Shooze Cruise on the Provincetown II on Wednesday, August 12, at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the $30 ticket price, each attendee is asked to donate a pair of new men’s sneakers, boots, or dress shoes sizes 9-13.The Shooze Cruise is the signature event of the Emerging Leaders of St. Francis House, a group of young philanthropists who hope to highlight the needs of homeless men and women who are struggling to rebuild their lives. Proper footwear is one of the biggest challenges of these men and women living on the streets and the event hopes to bring St. Francis House more than 250 new pairs this summer.
On top of the donated shoes, proceeds from the event’s tickets, raffle and sponsorships are aimed to raise more than $25,000 to support the programs and services provided at St. Francis House. Sponsors for this years event include BNY Mellon, The Millennium Bostonian Hotel, and North 26 Restaurant and Bar. The cruise includes a tour of the Boston Harbor aboard the Provincetown II, will and will feature dancing, food, a raffle, and a cash bar. For more information, visit www.stfrancishouse.org.
